Devorah Dressed Up is a
reinterpreted 1951 retro hand-made sofa. As you can see, when we purchased
it, it was a short, right facing
sectional unit.
We stripped the unit
of its stuffing, and modified the
shorter end to mirror its sister on the left. It is made of
molded latex rubber over no-sag
springs, burlap and hair. It has
a cotton batting topper with muslin
undercover. The down filled knife-edge twisted bullioned pillow topper is our invention.
The pillow top was secured by spring-loaded clips attached to the inside frame,
and is completely removable! The solid fabric is rayon and cotton chenille
laminated with a tight jersey stocking back on the underside of the cloth.
The bright cotton tapestry makes this as comfortable as it is fun!
