Before, and After, Reinterpretation!

A futuristic sofa from the past acquires a ruffled topper and
a modern attitude!
Devorah Dressed Up is a
reinterpreted 1951 retro sofa. As you can see, when purchased, it was a short, right facing
sectional unit. We reutilized its stuffing, and modified the shorter end
to mirror its sister on the left. A cotton batting topper with muslin
undercover was added because the new owners were much taller than the original
design accommodated -- yet the topper did not harm the original buildup
and is completely removable! The down filled knife-edge twisted bullion
pillow topper is our invention. The pillow top was secured by
spring-loaded clips attached to the inside frame.

reinterpretations:

Mimi's Rocker
was a restoration project of a diminutive 1870's rocker, and
then a barrier coat was placed on the chair and a touch of
gold was placed into the bamboo motif.
